Razer Hits 78% of Its 2030 Decarbonisation Targets Early

Razer has released its Fiscal Year 2025 Sustainability Report, showing the gaming hardware and lifestyle brand has already achieved 78% of its value chain decarbonisation commitments under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), ahead of its 2030 schedule.

Key Results From FY2025

According to the report, Razer’s 2025 sustainability performance includes:

  • 78% of value chain decarbonisation commitments under SBTi achieved ahead of the 2030 deadline
  • A 99.32% reduction in software emissions after applying green software principles to Synapse 4
  • A 6.1% reduction in value chain (Scope 3) emissions compared to FY2024
  • An ‘A’ rating from CDP for environmental leadership, and a Silver Medal from EcoVadis for ESG practices
  • Recycling programmes rolled out across all RazerStores, including in-store e-waste drop-off and device take-back for peripherals and laptops
  • All corporate offices transitioned to 100% renewable energy, a goal achieved in 2022 — three years ahead of its original 2025 target
  • Recognition as one of Fast Company’s “Top 10 Most Innovative Companies” in Gaming

A Value-Chain Approach to Decarbonisation

Kenneth Ng, Global Sustainability Lead at Razer, attributed the progress to collaboration across the company’s wider ecosystem rather than internal operations alone: “Real progress in climate action stems from long-term partnerships and shared value-chain accountability. We are creating an impact that extends far beyond our own operations by collaborating across our ecosystem to improve emissions reporting, build capability, and deploy practical solutions.”

He added that the company remains focused on its longer-term roadmap:

“As we continue advancing toward our 2030 climate goals and #GoGreenWithRazer roadmap, we remain focused on strengthening our sustainability capabilities, making our ecosystem more resilient, more transparent and better positioned for the low carbon economy.”

Razer’s sustainability strategy sits under its ESG framework, which is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and shaped by a materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement process. The centrepiece is the #GoGreenWithRazer programme, a 10-year environmental roadmap covering product lifecycles, operations and supply chains, organised around four pillars: green products, green community, green organisation and green investment.

In 2023, Razer formalised a Climate Transition Plan (CTP), committing to a 90% absolute reduction in emissions and a 55% intensity reduction in value chain emissions as it shifts toward renewable energy and recycled materials – underpinning its short-term net zero targets for 2030.

Extending Sustainability Support to Suppliers

Razer has also partnered with the Asia Pacific Green Alliance (APGA) to help its suppliers strengthen sustainability reporting and align with internationally recognised environmental disclosure standards. As part of this effort, the company plans to deploy agentic AI tools to simplify reporting and data management for supply chain partners.

Acting as APGA’s lead “Queen Bee,” Razer says it will help small and medium-sized enterprises in its supply chain improve their sustainability capabilities, gain greater access to green financing, and strengthen their competitiveness in global supply chains.
